True Body by Karate
The way of the martial arts has led people to a long and healthy life (if practiced correctly). Karate originated in Okinawa by way of China. The Okinawans are the longest living people in the world. Their diet and lifestyle is probably part of the reason. I would also like to think that the martial arts (although not practiced by all) plays a great part in this.Some of the greatest masters of the Okinawan martial arts have practiced well into their 90's. The picture of the man on the right is Goju-ryu Karate practitioner Sogen Sakiyama. He is 73 in this picture. He practice karate, breathing exercises and meditation daily.
Karate is certainly more than just learning how to kick, punch and protect yourself; it is a means to total mind and body balance. A transformation of the complete person will result in better health and fitness.
